This is a blog about me, Hillary, and my life as an undomesticated, kinda not a real adult, wife. I plan to post about what has been going on in our house and lives. It is possible, though, that I will post about current events and politics, as well.
I am married to my high school sweetheart and best friend, Tate. We are both in our late twenties and have been together now for almost 11 years; married for over 3. We were married on May 11, 2013 and we never lived together before that day. However, as I was pretty much a nomad, his parent’s house was my third home, so we knew each other well enough for us not to lose our damn minds when we started living together.
Tate is a Graphic Designer at a local print shop, and I have been in the medical field for the last 7+ years and currently work part-time as a Transcriptionist in a small surgeon’s office. We own our home in Florida and are parents to two furbabies: Frank, our pit bull, and Duchess, our Ragdoll cat. Humanbabies will not be happening any time soon if we have anything to say about it (don’t tell that to our families, though…) because we enjoy doing whatever we want whenever we want. Also, my life goal is to either be a stay at home trophy wife (sans kids) or for us to travel the world while working from our laptops. I dream big, y’all.
I decided to start this blog because I have noticed that people our age tend to see marriage as a death sentence, and I want to show people that it doesn’t have to be. Marriage doesn’t have to mean “a ball and chain”. If you find someone that respects you and that you respect and if you can understand that you are each your own person, you can have an amazing, fun and eventful life while being married; together and separately. As a matter of fact, I know that my life is better being married than it would be as a single person!
So, stick around and let’s see if I can actually keep this thing updated. Anything is possible, right?
